Wow! Talk about jumping out of the Gym. Meet Tate Pashibin! Tate was a true competitor who lit up the track with her leadership as well as her joy of both individual and team competition. She was an athlete seemingly made for Track & Field as she loved the duality of both striving to improve upon personal marks as well as being a welcoming team leader of a bigger Southwest track family. She was the 2012 Athena Award winner with 5 letters (3 in track and 2 in Gymnastics before she focused on Track). She was rookie of the year in Gymnastics in 2009, two time captain of the Track and Field team and reached the high school athletic pinnacle in 2011 earning Track and Field High School All American Honors.

Her accolades were dominant and seemingly continuous as two time State High School High Jump Champion (2011 & 2012), two time State High School Triple Jump runner-up (2011 & 2012) and State High School Long Jump runner-up (2012). On route to State meets, numerous records were set. Her 5’8” High Jump in 2011 not only set both Southwest Women’s Track and Field and the Section 6AA records, but both still stand today. This record was the record Tate would tell you changed her life having put her on the map with Division 1 schools. That said, her numerous other records are impressive by themselves.

After high school, Tate accepted a scholarship to attend college at Marquette University where she continued to excel both in the classroom and on the track. She made her mark in the Marquette record books too. And while her successes are too numerous to list here, some of her top awards are noted below.




Tate graduated summa cum laude from Marquette with a degree in Exercise Physiology. She subsequently earned her Master’s degree in Environmental Science at Ohio University. Today you can find her at the Science Museum of Minnesota aiming to make science accessible, inclusive and inspiring for all visitors just as she did as an athlete and teammate.
